 Het lied gaat over verschillende vormen van lijden. De zangeres geeft in het lied enkele voorbeelden van lijden. Ze heeft het over fysiek lijden, bijvoorbeeld wanneer men in het ziekenhuis ligt. Ze heeft het ook over het moreel lijden, tijdens een oorlog bijvoorbeeld. Ze heeft het ook over lijden door invloed van de natuur, bijvoorbeeld lijden door de kou. En een laatste lijden waar het lied over gaat, is het persoonlijke lijden van de mensen. Bijvoorbeeld mensen lijden omdat ze niet veel centjes hebben , dus eigenlijk arm zijn. Ze zegt hierbij dat de mensen dan altijd maar lachen met God in plaats dan naar God. Ze zouden beter lachen naar God, vindt ze. Het is beter om steun te gaan zoeken bij God wanneer je lijdt. Veel mensen gaan tegenwoordig hun lijden gewoon opkroppen, gaan het  verstoppen. In plaats daarvan zouden ze beter eens bidden tot God, zo kunnen ze eens even hun verhaal kwijt.

--> Ik ben akkoord met wat de zangeres hier zegt in het lied. Ik denk dat het beter is steun in God te zoeken op zo'n momenten, dan ermee te gaan lachen. Toen mijn meme gestorven was maakte ik het ook sommige momenten stil en bad zachtjes tot God dat alles goed zou gaan met haar.
